## Quya Raymi and the ceremony

- Quya Raymi is one of the four most important festivals of the Andean and Inca calendar, celebrated every 21 September with the equinox. It marks the start of the sowing season and honours femininity, fertility, the Moon (Mama Killa) and the Pachamama. The name comes from Quechua Quya (queen, princess or wife of the Inca) and Raymi (festival); it is also called Killa Raymi (Festival of the Moon).
- The ceremony is an offering to Apu Thunupa, a sacred ritual of reciprocity and gratitude known as a despacho or pago: a structured "mesa" of sacred elements to give thanks and ask for a prosperous harvest.

## Who guides it

- Kevin Garnica (Rio), a creator of experiences and a nomad who connects with ancestral cultures to remember and share their knowledge, and whose path has led him to train in meditation, yoga, tantra, breathwork, conscious touch, coaching and neuro-linguistic programming, organises the retreat and its logistics and, with his team, guides the meditations; the retreat was his vision.
- Tata Estevan, originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, has lived in Bolivia for 36 years, hosts Casa Pueblo (a centre for spiritual growth in Sucre), has received two karpay initiations from Q'ero priests in Peru, and is a member of the Consejo Amawtico of Tawantinsuyu. He offers the ceremony.
- Susana Barrero has a personal connection with Andean traditions, trained and worked in Amsterdam as a guide for deep inner journeys, and supports the retreat as part of the team; through Spectralmoon Studio (https://spectralmoonstudio.com) she takes care of the website and the digital materials.
